Traubisoda

A tutaj znajdziecie troszkę pojechaną reklamę traubisody z lat osiemdziedziątych.

Traubisoda - also called Traubi. Well, that green bottle used to be a deliciuos & refreshing soda in the 80's, quite similar to sprite but had the grape flavor. At that time some were saying (I did not) that this is the "hungarian coke" - apparently. Nowadays it is still possible to drink a Traubi. Here you can find a retro (pretty freaky) tv commercial of traubisoda.

Robert Capa

Robert Capa to ikona fotografii, prawdziwa legenda.
Zrobię tu małą reklamę i polecę zainteresowanym biografię R.C. łatwo dostępną w Polsce o tytule "Capa. Szampan i Krew" Alexa Kershawa.
Zacytuję natomiast Capę, ponieważ bardzo mi sie podobają te dwa zdania i chyba każdego Węgra napawają dumą : "Nie wystarczy mieć talent. Trzeba jeszcze być Węgrem."

Robert Capa is a real legend, the icon of photography. Without him perhaps the Magnum agency would not be formed, maybe the photo reportage would be different than it is today. But you can tell one thing about Capa, that he is an extremely important figure in Hungarian (Capa was born in Budapest) and global history of photography. He was also an amazing person, a gambler, he adored luxurious alcohols, he was a real party guy but he also had a romantic soul. In 2009 the Ludwig Museum in Budapest prepared a huge exhibition of Capa's works. Well, we spent almost five hours enjoying this event. It turned out, that all of this was possible, because a government grant enabled the Hungarian National Museum to buy 985 of Robert Capa’s photos from the collection of the International Center of Photography. There are only two more identical collections of limited -edition series of prints, one in New York and one in Tokyo. It makes me happy that the Hungarian authorities allocate such amounts for only one collection of photography.
Finally, I'd like to quote a famous sentence said by Robert Capa, a sentence that makes proud every Hungarian: "It is not enough to be talented. You have to be Hungarian."

Kolosy market

Elisabeth's square - nice place for an open air beer. In the summer nights it might be pretty crowded, but the music is cool, the atmosphere is really nice and the beer is quite cheap.

Jeżeli interesuje Was najnowsza kolekcja Tiszy to kliknijcie tutaj! A w tle mojego buta widać zamek królewski i słynny most łańcuchowy.

This is my first pair of hungarian sneakers made by the TISZA brand. The story is really beautiful, because Tisza was a leading brand in the 70's & the 80's. At that time everyone was wearing Tisza shoes. In the early 90's the Tisza brand died a "natural death". Few years ago some cool young people came up with the idea to regenerate the Tisza brand. These days the Tisza sneakers are the most trendy ones again. If you're interested in the latest collection of Tisza just click here! Oh yeah, in the background of my shoe you can see the Royal Castle and the famous Chain bridge.

Tomi

Znowu trochę oldskoolu. To zdjęcie pstryknęła chyba moja siostra w 1993 roku.

Some oldschool again. This photo was shot probably by my sister in 1993. On the image you can see me (that blockhead with the finger), my fella and neighbour in one person: Tomi. Tomi was the biggest fan of Megadeth, Metallica and Slayer I have ever known. He was the man!!! At that time I was on the stage of listening to Digital Underground and Wu Tang Clan. But it would be to beautiful, so I must admit that I was also listening to Dr. Alban or Culture Beat...

Te zdjęcia powstały jesienią 2003 roku w trakcie krótkiego wypadu do Budapesztu.

These photographs were made in 2003's autumn during a short trip to Budapest. My Grandfather, my Grandmother, Bence & Zsombor (my brothers) are on these images. My Grandpa was already seriously ill that time, however everything was like the old way: cigarettes everywhere, lot of smoke, crossword puzzles and my growing brothers...
